Specifications Consultant
Kevin Wang has 18 years of experience producing architectural projects with over 12 of those years dedicated solely to writing and editing construction specifications. His exposure to numerous project types has resulted in a detailed knowledge base of construction materials and applications. Kevin’s background with two large DFW area firms has given him a solid foundation of architectural expertise, and his early specialization in the field of specifications and subsequent large number of projects has resulted in an accelerated exposure to building science and technology.
Kevin is an analytical thinker and problem solver with an attention to detail which he applies toward providing excellent client service.
Kevin’s experience includes a diverse range of project types, including commercial offices, government facilities, multi-family residential, K-12 schools, health care, hospitality, higher education, retail centers, industrial facilities, senior living, automobile dealerships, places of worship, and mixed-use developments, with an estimated total construction cost exceeding $1 billion.
In addition to producing specifications, Kevin’s behind the scenes duties also include managing and scheduling specification production, including administrative support, as well as preparing and negotiating contracts with clients, and reviewing monthly invoicing.
Kevin is an active member of the Construction Specifications Institute and currently sits on the CSI Dallas Chapter Board of Directors as the Vice President. His involvement with CSI has allowed him to stay on the leading edge of industry trends, products, and materials.
Kevin is a proud family man who volunteers for the PTA at his two sons’ elementary school. In his spare time he is an avid runner, having completed several half marathons with a full marathon in his future plans.

Specifications Consultant/Project Manager
Steve Brown has over 25 years of experience in Architecture, Interiors, Construction Management, and Specifications. His extensive background as a project architect, project manager, specifier, and construction administrator provide him with a well rounded experience allowing him to understand the needs of each of these job functions and subsequently can perform his responsibilities as a specifications consultant and construction project manager more effectively. His experience spans a variety of project types including corporate, institutional, industrial, and medical projects.
Steve has worked with several distinguished firms during his Dallas career including Lockwood Andrews Newnam, Hellmuth, Obatta & Kassabaum, Inc. Aguirre Corporation, Heery International and HLM Design (formerly JPJ Architects). He has functioned as a Project Manager, Construction Administrator, and Construction Specifier.
Steve brings a valuable experience level to the project team, having been heavily involved in the technology of architecture his entire career. His perspectives on materials applications, detailing, contractual methods, and team building, make his background unique and his counsel and perspective important factors is producing well coordinated construction documents and effectively implementing them during construction.
Steve believes that quality assurance must be woven into the process from the beginning and monitored throughout the design and construction process in order to deliver a facility that not only meets the client’s needs, but is within budget and delivered on time. His commitment to the process of ensuring client satisfaction is at the heart of his efforts.

ALEX MARTINEZ
Administrative Assistant
Alex Martinez has been with INSPEC for over 5 years as an Administrative Assistant to the Specification Writers. Alex assists the Specification Writers in all phases of the project including project setup through the final preparation of the project manuals. He keeps our master schedule of projects with upcoming deadlines and prepares weekly reports. He also assists the Specification Writers in handling all their incoming drawings from clients. Alex has become an vital and valuable team member in providing a quality specification project manual to our clients.
When not working, Alex participates in indoor adult soccer leagues as well as basketball leagues. He also coaches kindergarten and 1st grade level basketball teams in efforts to pursue his love for the game. Alex also enjoys family gatherings and quality time with his son, Jaxon.
